The Campus Diagonal-Besòs

The establishment of The Campus Diagonal-Besòs reflects the desire to create a new hub for innovation, knowledge and technology transfer in a key area lying between Barcelona and Sant Adrià de Besòs using a new triangular model based on teaching, research and business.

The Campus is currently the most important new technology infrastructure of the Spanish State and covers a surface area of 148,266 m2.

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, BarcelonaTech (UPC), the Government of Catalonia and the municipalities of Barcelona and Sant Adrià de Besòs are leading the project in order to boost the Campus in its role as a driver of economic and social change in favor of the surrounding area and Catalonia as a whole.

The Campus is the means for promoting a model for universities based on research into high priority areas such as energy, chemical and materials engineering and biomedical technology. It is a paradigm which strengthens the links between research and innovation focused on the productive sector.
